New Performance Level Badge Requirements
image
Next week the CrowdFlower Team will be releasing some refinements to the Performance Level Badge Requirements. The changes you will see are not massive in scale, but they will help make the Leveling system more fair for all Contributors.
Most of the upcoming changes relate to Flags as we know this has been one of the more frustrating aspects of the Leveling system (especially for longterm Contributors). We recognize that the criteria for Minor and Major Flags might have been too strict as it allowed one TaskAuthor the ability to easily strip you of all your Levels. We’ve heard your comments and concerns and wanted to let you to know that we’re listening.
With the new Performance Level Badge Requirements we are being more lenient with Major & Minor Flags for Levels 1 & 2. We are also introducing a new “Admin Flag”. This new Flag indicates that a TaskAuthor has requested that a CF Admin review your work. Receiving this Flag will temporarily remove your Levels until an Admin reviews your work on that Job.
Below is an outline of the changes you should expect:
Minor Flags
Minor Flags will be more lenient for Contributors in Level 2. Contributors in Level 2 will now be allowed to have one Minor Flag. Previously Contributors in Level 2 could not have a single Minor Flag on their account.
Major Flags
There will be much more leniency with Major Flags. Previously a single Major Flag would result in your losing all of your Level Badges. With the new requirements Contributors in Level 1 can have 2 Major Flags and Contributors in Level 2 can have 1 Major Flag on their account.
Admin Flag
We are introducing a 3rd type of Flag called “Admin Flag”. An “Admin Flag” indicates that the TaskAuthor has requested that a CrowdFlower Admin review your work on their Job before you continue working on other Level Jobs. All of your badges will temporarily disappear until your work has been reviewed by an Admin. To have your work reviewed by an Admin, please follow the same process as disputing a Minor or Major Flag.

Do all Jobs affect my Performance Level standings?
Have you noticed your Contributor Dashboard Work Statistics sometimes not updating even though you have been working on a Job that contains Test Questions?

Why do my total number of “Jobs Completed” and “Test Questions Answered” sometimes decrease?
image
Have you recently noticed a sudden decrease in the total number of “Jobs Completed” and “Test Questions Answered” displayed in your Contributor Dashboard’s Work Statistics section?
Do not be worried. This is because we have been retroactively removing unfair Test Questions from the total number of Test Questions you have answered.

Tune in Tuesday: What’s coming next?
We are working on it! The CrowdFlower engineers are working hard to bring you the most optimized tasking experience online!
Recent changes:
Job Listing page clearly shows Jobs you have “Already Viewed”
Now, ‘Blue dots’ appear next to the new Jobs you haven’t viewed or accessed yet via your current Contributor ID. Jobs that have already been viewed on that specific Contributor ID will not have a blue dot next to it.
* At the moment, this feature only works on your preferred Contributor ID (post update, 10/10 2014).

Task Expiration Upon ‘Give Up’
Currently, when a Contributor decides to ‘Give Up’ their uncompleted Task is not available to other Contributors until the Timer counts to zero in the background. We will be changing this so that the Task is immediately made available to other Contributors after someone ‘Gives Up’. This will enable a faster turnaround of available Tasks for Contributors who are looking for them! - 7/22/2014, Tune in Tuesday
Changes planned for the next couple weeks:
'Level Up' Jobs for Contributors without a Level 1 Badge
A few months ago(7/4/2014, Tune in Tuesday), we announced that we will start experimenting with specially designed Jobs that will be readily available on the Job Listing page to help Contributors without a Level 1 badge level up. We will be working full force on this and hope to expose it to you within this month.
Backend maintenance
We will be making necessary updates and changes on our backend to be able to support new features and make future improvements.
Fix Tweeting Dashboard Work Statistics Feature
Tweeting Work Statistics button is not working on the Contributor Dashboard page. We will be fixing this.
Changes still in progress:
Link to Job Listing page on the Contributor Dashboard
We are adding a link to the Contributor Dashboard that will immediately take you to your preferred Contributor ID’s Job Listing page. - 8/19/2014, Tune in Tuesday
What do you think? We appreciate your feedback and will use it to evaluate changes and make improvements in the future!

Changes in Job Listing Page “Tasks” Column
image
In a continuing effort to improve your overall tasking experience, we have been working on optimizing the Job Listing page and making small changes to it!
In order to provide you with more insight into Job availability, the Job Listing page’s “Tasks” column now shows the actual number of tasks in a Job you can work on.
Previously, the column displayed the total number of tasks that are left in each Job, which included tasks that are both available and unavailable to you. For instance, even if the column clearly showed that there are 1000 tasks remaining in the Job, you may have only been able to complete 5 tasks in actuality. With the recent changes, we are highlighting these “5” tasks you will be able to complete instead of displaying the 1000 tasks you may or may not be able to complete.
What do you think? We appreciate your feedback and will use it to evaluate changes and make improvements in the future!

Tune in Tuesday: What’s coming next?
We are working on it! The CrowdFlower engineers are working hard to bring you the most optimized tasking experience online!
Recent changes:
Improved Sorting for Major and Minor Flags
Currently, Contributors can only sort Flags on a single Job History page. As a result, you may have found yourself having to tediously go through each and every Job History page in order to find Flags. We will be improving this sort functionality so that when you sort by Flags all of your Flags surface to the first page. - 8/5/2014, Tune in Tuesday
Tweet Dashboard Stats feature in Contributor Dashboard
We will add a feature that will help you easily tweet and share your Contributor Dashboard stats with your friends, family and the Contributor Community! - 8/19/2014, Tune in Tuesday
Changes planned for the next couple weeks:
Dashboard Overall Accuracy
Currently, your overall Accuracy shown in the Contributor Dashboard displays a rounded-up version of your actual Accuracy calculation that is used in determining your Level status, which means that you may be seeing an overall 80% Accuracy instead of 79.9%. As a result, you may have been wondering why you aren’t in Level 1 despite having fulfilled all of the level requirements. We hope to minimize this confusion by displaying the rounded-down version of your actual Accuracy calculation.
Changes still in progress:
Job Listing page clearly shows Jobs you have “Already Viewed”
You will soon have a visual indication that you have already viewed a Job on the Job Listing page. Hopefully this will save you time! - 9/2/2014, Tune in Tuesday

Quiz Mode and Job Availability
Have you ever received the ‘No More Work Available’ error after having to learn all of the instructions to pass Quiz Mode? With our upcoming changes, passing Quiz Mode will guarantee you at least one Task in Work Mode (additional Tasks in the job depends on availability) - 5/13/14, Tune in Tuesday
